Three Questions To Think About Before The Newark Peace Education Summit

In December of 2007, at the 8th Nobel Peace Laureate Summit the following statement was generated and endorsed by many Nobel Laureates including His Holiness the Dalai Lama. With the Newark Peace Education Summit coming in just a few days, we thought it would be meaningful to revisit them here. We urge you to think about the three provocative questions asked in this statement as well as your own answers to them.

PEACE QUOTES

"NEVER GIVE UP

No matter what is going on

Never give up

Develop the heart

Too much energy in your country

Is spent developing the mind

Instead of the heart

Be compassionate

Not just to your friends

But to everyone

Be compassionate

Work for peace

In your heart and in the world

Work for peace

And I say again

Never give up

No matter what is going on around you

Never give up"

Dalai Lama XIV
